Morning Check-out and we visit the amazing mountain fortress of Petra, known to be inhabited by the Edomites - the descendants of Esau. Begin the tour with a walk through the "Siq," an immense crack in the Nabatean sandstone, to the city of Petra carved out of the rose red rock. The Treasury, El Khazneh, is one of the most elegant remains of antiquity. Beyond El Khazneh we are surrounded on both sides by hundreds of Petra's carved and built structures. Our morning tour begins in the town of Madaba, the biblical Medeba, 30 kilometres south of Amman. Madaba is best known for its Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics and at the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George we view the earliest surviving mosaic map of the Holy land. Mt. Nebo, believed to be the site of the tomb of Moses, commands a spectacular view across the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. Study the panorama as we read the scripture of God showing Moses the "Promised Land" before He brought him home to heaven. As we travel west toward the Allenby Bridge, we view to the north the Plains of Moab, the area where the tribes of Israel camped before crossing the Jordan and picture the place where Jesus was baptized. Crossing the Jordan River into Israel, we drive to Tel Aviv area with the remainder of the afternoon free. You may wish to take a devotional time with the sunset over the “Great Sea,” a time of prayer and thanks for the special blessings ahead, a prayer for the people of this land, and then enjoy a good night’s rest.
Drive north along the coastal plain to Caesarea (Acts 9.30 Acts 10 24-48), capital of Judea under the Romans. Visit the excavations of this ancient city, the Roman theatre and aqueduct. Continue to Megiddo (1 Kings 4.28, 9,15, 2 Kings 23,29 & Revel. 16.16), identified as the site of Armageddon. Visit the archaeological excavations at Megiddo, including the well-preserved water supply system. Drive to the Haifa for Visiting St Peter’s Church and then beautiful port city of Haifa, facing to the Mediterranean Sea, for a panoramic view of the Bahai Gardens and Haifa Bay. From Haifa continue to Acre (Micah 1.10), capital of the Crusaders for more than a century. Ascend Mt. Carmel, home of the prophets Elijah and Elisha and then to the ancient city and harbour before continuing eastwards across the plains of the Galilee Lake, Check-in at Hotel, dinner at Hotel, Overnight stay at Tiberius
Morning a short tour of the Kibbutz, VirginOlive Oil, then for a boat ride across the Sea of Galilee to Capernaum (Matt. 4.13 13.54, 17.24, Luke 7, Mark 1.2, John 4.46-54). Visit the remains of the 2nd century synagogue. Proceed to Mensa –Christi was call Peter’s Primacy. Tabgha (Matt. 13, Mark .33-45, & John 21), the site of the Miracle of the Loaves and Fishes, and visit the Church of Multiplication with its 4th century mosaic floor. Lunch at David Harp Restaurant, enjoy the St. Peter’s Fish. Continue to the Mount of the Beatitudes (Matt. 5,6,7,8), where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount. Drive to the Banias Spring and Waterfall (Matt. 16.13 and Mark 8.27), where Jesus was recognized as The Messiah by His Disciples. Tour the Golan Heights, with its valleys. Shopping at Dead Sea Factory outlet, Dinner at Hotel. Overnight stay at Tiberius
Drive toMount Tabor, take an excursion to visit the site of the Transfiguration of Jesus. Nazareth (Luke 1.26, 4.16-29, Matthew 2.23) via Cana of Galilee (John 2.1-11). In Nazareth, we shall visit the Church of the Annunciation, St. Joseph’s Workshop and Mary’s Well. Next on our program is the Jordan River and the Baptismal site Yardenit. Continue to Beit Shean, one of the ancient Decapolis cities (Mark 5.20, 7.31), and visit the Roman theatre. This is the city where Saul and his son Jonathan were nailed to the walls (1st Samuel 31.10). Judges 1.27 also mentions Beit Shean. Continue south along the River of Jordan. We proceed to the Golden City of Jerusalem. Check-in at Hotel. Dinner and Overnight stay at Jerusalem.
Today morning, visiting the Old City of Jerusalem. Drive to the top of the Mt. of Olives for a spectacular view of Jerusalem, overlooking the walls of the Old City and the ancient Jewish cemetery. Visit the Church of Pater Noster, Ascension, and then walk the "Palm Sunday Road" to Dominus Flevit, where Our Lord wept over Jerusalem. Proceed to the Garden of Gethsemane to visit the Church of All Nations., Visit the Church of All Nations. Proceed to Mount Zion to see the tomb of King David, Room of the Last Supper (Mark 14.13, Luke 22. 10-38, Matt 26 17-29, Acts 1.13 and Acts 2 the Pentecost).and Dormition Abbey and St. Peter in Gallicantu where Peter denied Jesus three times Room. Enter the Old City to begin exploring the wonders of Jerusalem. Walk through the Cardo, the main street of Jerusalem 2000 years ago. View the Temple Mount and the Western Wall Dinner at Hotel, Overnight stay at Jerusalem
Morning walk along the Via Dolorosa, where Jesus carried His Cross. Visit the Church of St. Anne, the Pool of Bethesda and the Chapel of Flagellation. We will then carry a wooden cross along the Via Dolorosa to the Church ofthe Holy Sepulcher to visitGolgotha and the Tomb of Our Lord. Continue to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher (Matt. 27. 33-57, 28.10). No visit to Jerusalem is complete without a walk through the colorful Arab bazaar.
Afternoon program is dedicated to the new city of Jerusalem. Visit the model of ancient Jerusalem. Continue to YadVashem, Israel’s memorial to the victims of the Holocaust. Enter the site by walking along the Street of the Righteous Gentiles, dedicated to the non-Jews that risked their lives in order to save their Jewish neighbours. Continue to Ein Karem, birthplace of John the Baptists (Luke 1.39-80). This Spanish style church and Mary’s well is where Mother Mary met her cousin Elizabeth. Dinner and Overnight stay at Jerusalem
Drive to Bethlehem * to visit the Church of the Nativity, Shepherded Church, Milk Grotto, afternoon we are visiting Bethany - Lazarus tomb and his house and then drive to Emmaus where Jesus first appeared after the resurrection (Luke 24,13-35) Overnight stay at Jerusalem
Morning drive to Southern part of Israel through the Jordan River valley to the ancient city of Jericho. Jericho is below the Sea level; the vegetables and fruits are very tasty. The Mount of Temptation is said to be the hill in the Judaean desert where Jesus was tempted by the evil. From the top of the ancient “Tel”, seeing the excellent view of Ellsha’s Fountain, the Qarantal Monastery where Jesus had 40 days fasting before our Lord Ministry formation- Jericho cable car ride and the Mount of Temptation. After Lunch, the dead sea – you will be given time to experience floating in the medicinal waters. Visiting the Sycamore tree, Zacchaeus climbed on that tree, to see the Jesus, from the crowd. Dinner at Hotel. Overnight stay at Jerusalem.
Our day begins with a cable car ride to the mountain top fortress of Masada. Here our guide will treat us to the history of the famous zealot stand. Afterwards we proceed to Ein Gedi, "Spring of the Goat," an oasis on the western shore of the Dead Sea. Because of its warm climate and abundant supply of water, the site developed a reputation for its fragrant plants and date palm groves. This is where King David hid from Saul, and where God defeated the enemies of the Israelites by praise and worship led by King Jehoshaphat. Next, we visit Qumran Caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. This evening, we will take part in the Genesis Land/Dinner in Abraham's Tent, where we enjoy a trip back in time: a reliving of life in the time of the Patriarchs, complete with costume, dramatic presentation, and authentic food.
