Day 9: Vienna
Morning after breakfast, Discover the Vienna Woods, visit the Mayerling hunting lodge, where scandal once rocked the royal family, as well as the Cistercian Abbey of Heiligenkreuz, constructed in 1133. Soak up a scenic boat ride on the Seegrotte, the largest subterranean lake in Europe. Then, journey back to your original departure point, spotting Liechtenstein Castle on the way. Sitting high on a hill overlooking the Charles Bridge and Vltava River, Prague Castle (Prazsky Hrad) is a huge complex of museums, churches, palaces, and gardens dating from the ninth century. Nestled in the historic center of Prague—all of which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site—the largest castle complex in the world is an outstanding relic of Prague’s architectural history and a must for any visitor to the City of a Hundred Spires. Lunch at Restaurant. Take in a poignant piece of World War II history of Terezin Concentration Camp from Prague. Learn the history behind one of the largest camps in the Czech Republic and preserve the stories of the lives lost. Day 12: Prague - Berlin (220 Miles / 3.40 hrs. drive)
After breakfast, check-out and drive to Berlin. Day 13: Berlin
Delve deep into Germany’s rich history of Berlin Wall and Cold War walking tour in Berlin. Follow a guide from the Palace of Tears (Tränenpalast) along the line where the infamous Berlin Wall once stood. Along the way, discover bridges leading nowhere and ghost stations fallen into disuse.
